Dr. Philippe Saner
Advisor for product sustainability and traceability
I did my PhD on the restoration of tropical forests for biodiversity and carbon storage in Malaysian Borneo. During my field work I developed an interest in the financing of more sustainable use of natural resources. As a scientific advisor for the UN Global Mechanism I was then mandated to analyse and report on the financial flows towards combating land degradation at a global scale.
I worked for several years in the private sector and as a consultant for business development, ICT and corporate responsibility. For an international merchant in agro-commodities I managed the sustainability-linked loan and was the responsible for a public private partnership project on cotton sustainability and traceabililty with smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Based on my experience in research, the public and the private sector I now advise organizations in strengthening the sustainability of their products and services.
